Install Spanna

Installing Spanna on macOS is straightforward — there’s a single Universal DMG that runs natively on every Mac.

One file, every Mac

The Spanna macOS download is a Universal binary: it runs natively on both Apple Silicon (M1, M2, M3, M4) and older Intel Macs from a single DMG. You don’t need to know which chip your Mac has — just download spanna-mac.dmg and you’re done.

Install steps

1. Download the DMG from the Spanna site.
2. Open the DMG.
3. Drag Spanna into Applications.
4. Launch the app.
5. Sign in if you want synced encrypted connections and browser access.

What happens next

After install, you can use Spanna immediately:

• add a local or remote MongoDB connection
• work without Pro
• sign in later if you want Cloud Sync

You can start using the desktop client immediately and add account features later if needed.

Updates

Spanna checks for desktop updates and can apply them when the update feed is reachable and configured. If you install from the latest stable download, you should be ready to go.
